Article processing charges
What publishing with us costs, what that covers, and when it is payable.
Why there is a charge
Our journals are open access, so readers pay nothing. The costs of running peer review, copy-editing, typesetting, hosting and long-term preservation are met by a one-off article processing charge (APC), payable only after an article has been accepted.

What the charge covers
- Editorial handling and management of peer review
- Similarity screening
- Copy-editing and typesetting
- Permanent hosting and open access to the full text
- Citation metadata so the article can be indexed and cited
When it is payable
Only after acceptance. There is no charge to submit a manuscript and no charge if your manuscript is rejected. Payment is never a factor in the editorial decision — see publication policies.
Waivers and concessions

Refunds

What readers pay
Nothing. There is no subscription, no pay-per-view and no registration needed to read or download any article we publish.
